Thati is an agribusiness development specialist with over 20 years’ experience in agribusiness research, development and project management consultancy spread across the public sector (14 years) and the private sector (7 years).
Academically, Thati is an Agricultural Economist with a degree in Agricultural Management and honours in Agricultural Economics from University of Limpopo. He also possesses an MBA from Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA). Thati spent his 14 years of work experience
as an Agricultural Economist within Business and Institutional Development and International Trades Directorates at National Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (4 years), Principal Agricultural Economist – Marketing and Economics Division (18 months) at KwaZulu Natal Department of Agriculture and Deputy Director/ Project Manager – Agribusiness (9 years) at KwaZulu Natal Department of Economic Development.
Thati played pivotal roles in various agricultural value chains and projects ranging from food security to high impact agribusiness and agro-processing development and investment projects, including international trade. Thati brings into the team strategic leadership and project management expertise and competencies necessary to steer the project implementation to success.
Thati also serves as an agri-business linkages expert for the Agribusiness Component of the Ecosystem Development for Small Enterprise (EDSE) Programme funded by the European Union.
